1. Are The Scented Flames candles safe for people with allergies or asthma?

While our candles are made with premium, non-toxic soy wax, lead-free 100% cotton wicks, and other ingredients, blended with high-quality fragrance oils, any scented product can be a potential irritant to individuals with severe allergies, asthma, or chemical sensitivities. We recommend starting with a single, well-ventilated burn to see how you react.

2. What makes your candles "non-toxic"?

Our "non-toxic" promise means we avoid a list of harmful ingredients. Our wax blends have no parabens, phthalates, carcinogens, and low paraffin (under permissible limits). We use pure cotton wicks that are lead-free and core-free, and our fragrances are exclusively phthalate-free, whether derived from high-purity essential oils or premium fragrance oils that meet strict safety standards.

3. Do your candles have therapeutic benefits?

Our artisans craft our candles with delicacy and heart, in small batches. We believe our candles enhance your environment and mood, not to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition. The practice of aromatherapy—using scent to influence well-being—is a core part of our design. Scents like lavender and chamomile are chosen for their relaxing properties, while raspberry and marigold blends are selected to be uplifting and energizing. Lighting a Scented Flame candle can be a powerful ritual to create a calming, focused, or invigorating atmosphere.

4. Do you use essential oils or fragrance oils in your candles?

Yes, we selectively use fragrance oils for complex, nuanced, or longer-lasting fragrances that cannot be achieved with essential oils alone. We use premium, phthalate-free fragrance oils. All our scent sources are rigorously tested for safety, purity, and performance to ensure a clean, beautiful burn.

5. What is the best way to burn my candle for the first time?

The first burn is the most important! Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax has liquefied, reaching the edges of the vessel. This prevents "tunneling" and ensures an even burn for the life of your candle. This can take 2-4 hours depending on the size.

6. Why is the wick trim so important?

Trimming your wick to 1/4 inch before *every* light is crucial for safety and performance. A short wick ensures a controlled, soot-free flame, prevents the jar from overheating, and allows the fragrance to throw properly without being obscured by smoke. Use a wick trimmer for the best results.

7. How long should I burn my candle at a time?

For optimal safety and performance, we recommend not burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish the flame, let the wax cool and solidify, and trim the wick before relighting.

8. My candle has a "memory ring" or is tunneling. What can I do?

Tunneling occurs when the candle isn't allowed to form a full melt pool on its first few burns. To fix it, wrap the vessel in aluminum foil, leaving a small opening at the top. Burn the candle until the melted wax reaches the edges. You can also use a candle warmer to gently melt the wax evenly.

9. What are the key safety rules for burning yourcandles?

(a) Never leave a burning candle unattended.
(b) Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials.
(c) Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
(d) Always trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting.
(e) Do not burn for more than 4 hours.
(f) Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom to prevent the glass from cracking.

10. Is there soot or black smoke coming from my candle?

A properly cared-for Scented Flame candle should produce minimal to no soot. Black smoke is typically caused by:
(a) A wick that is too long.
(b) A draft causing the flame to flicker excessively.
(c) Debris (like wick trimmings) in the wax.
Simply extinguish the flame, let it cool, trim the wick, remove any debris, and relight in a draft-free area.

11. Your glass vessels get hot. Is this normal?

Yes, our candles are contained in thick, high-quality glass, which is designed to withstand heat. However, the vessel will become “Very hot” while burning and immediately after extinguishing. Always handle with care and place on an appropriate surface. Never move a burning candle or one with liquid wax.

12. How should I store my candles?

Store your candles in a cool, dark, and dry place away from direct sunlight. This preserves the integrity of the fragrance and prevents the wax from fading or softening.

13. What kind of wax do you use?

We use a proprietary, custom-blended wax made primarily from renewable resources like bee, soy, coconut and rapeseed. This blend was chosen for its exceptional scent throw, clean burn, and sustainability profile, outperforming plain paraffin wax.

14. Are your candles and packaging eco-friendly?

We are deeply committed to sustainability. Our packaging is 100% recyclable and made from recycled materials. Our wax is plant-based and renewable, and we are continuously working with our partners to reduce our environmental footprint at every stage.

15. What is your policy for shipping and handling?

16. What if my candle arrives damaged?

We package our products with the utmost care, but in the rare event that your candle arrives broken or damaged, please contact us within 3 days of delivery at contact@thescentedflames.com with your order number and a photograph of the damaged item. We will gladly arrange for a replacement or issue a full refund for your order in Pakistan.

17. Can I re-use the beautiful glass vessel once the candle is finished?

Absolutely! Our vessels are designed to be beautiful, long-lasting, and reusable. Once you have discontinued use (with 1/2 inch of wax remaining), let the wax cool. You can typically scoop out the remaining wax, remove the wick tab, and wash the vessel with warm, soapy water to clean it thoroughly. They make excellent containers for small items like jewelry, desk supplies, or even small succulents!

18. What is the shelf life of your candles?

While our high-quality fragrance oils are quite stable, we recommend using your Scented Flames candle within 12-18 months of purchase for the most optimal fragrance throw. Over time, and especially if exposed to heat or direct light (which is common in many parts of Pakistan), the fragrance may slightly fade. Following our storage guidelines (FAQ 12) will help preserve your candle's quality.

19. What payment methods do you accept for orders in Pakistan?

To accommodate all our customers across Pakistan, we accept both digital and cash payments. You can complete your order using:

Cash on Delivery (COD): This is our most popular option. Pay the courier with cash when your Scented Flame arrives at your door.

Bank Transfer / Digital Wallets: We accept direct payments via major platforms like JazzCash and EasyPaisa.

Debit/Credit Cards: We accept Visa and Mastercard through a secure, local payment gateway.

20. Is there a delivery charge for Cash on Delivery (COD) orders?

Yes, Cash on Delivery (COD) orders usually incur a nominal fee charged by the courier service to cover the cash-handling process. This fee will be clearly displayed as a separate line item at checkout before you finalize your order. You can avoid this fee by choosing an online payment method (Bank Transfer, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, or Card) instead.

21. How long will it take for my order to arrive within Pakistan?

Once your order is processed (within 1-3 business days), the delivery time depends on your location:

  • Other Cities and Remote Areas: May take 5-7 business days after dispatch.

22. Do you offer exchanges or returns if I don't like the scent?

We stand by the quality of our products, but unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or exchanges based solely on dislike of a fragrance once the candle has been lit. A scent is a matter of personal preference.

However, we will gladly accept returns or issue a full refund for:

  • Items that arrived damaged (see FAQ 16).
  • Items shipped to you in error.
